I was so thrilled when my good friend Stephanie asked me if I would take their family pictures because this is my MOST favorite time of year to take photos of people with all of the beautiful colors! She was telling me that it had been 8, yes EIGHT years since her family had a good family photo taken with the fall colors, which has been something she has been wanting to do every year since that day...eight years ago. We planned to take pictures on a Saturday, so Friday night I checked the weather and low-and-behold the weather report said 70% rain. All day. Oh yeah, I forgot I live in Eugene, Oregon, where it rains 332 days out of the year, so I quickly disregarded the discouragement that was tempted to come my way. I knew we could work SOMETHING out! The next day, without surprise, it rained...all day. We decided to rough it anyway. I brought my amazing sidekick along with me (my husband) and he was SUCH a huge help! We brainstormed some different locations that we could attempt to keep the Hackett family dry, and Stephen came up with the brilliant idea to go to Armitage Park, where they have covered areas AND lots of pretty trees and fall colors! Fortunately, we found a HUGE tree that acted as a giant umbrella so I was able to catch some decent shots without our session turning into a white tee shirt contest. You guys are the best and thank you for being such troopers! Here is some shots from our day.

Adventures with Jenna & Alex
I recently decided that every weekend I want to try and do a "mini" photoshoot, just so I can always be practicing and continuing to gain skill in my work, and of course... it's tons of fun :) Today I took Jenna and Alex out for a shoot, and they were nothing short of amazing! We had SO much fun and it was an absolutely beautiful day!
"Defying Gravity"--Women's Day 2011
This years Women's Day was based on the theme "Defying Gravity", which is one of the songs in the musical "Wicked". We had our very own women's ministry leader give a lesson, as well as women who shared their testimonies and to end the day our teen ministry performed a interpretive dance (for lack of a better word) based on the song "Everything" by Lifehouse. They did an AMAZING job! Here are some photos from the special day!

Go Ducks!
Hi all! I'm pretty excited to get back into blogging because I haven't done it in awhile! I'm going to make it a goal to post pics on here as I make my way through art school so I can get used to publishing my work. I thought I'd make a shout out to the Oregon Ducks who played yesterday in the National Championship game against Auburn and sadly, we lost, but MAN was it an intense game!! Whew...better luck next year boys. Anyway...so far this year has been pretty incredible. My wonderful husband just started back to school to be a physical therapist, and I'm so excited to see how he progresses! He loves it so far, so that's a good sign. School for me has been pretty incredible. I never really realized how much I love love LOVE taking photos. Recently I've gotten the opportunity though eDuck (a magazine subscription through the UofO) to take photos at the duck basketball games and that has been tons of fun. Here are some recent pics that I've shot.
I definitely feel privileged to have this opportunity so early on and I'm excited to see what the future holds for more photo assignments through the University! Maybe next year I'll be able to photograph football...hmm wishful thinking :) Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed this and there will be more to come!
